Ernest Fisk
Sir Ernest Fisk ( My great grandad,above) was born on the 8th of August 1886 at Sunbury, Middlesex, in england. he was the second child of Thomas Harvey Fisk.
He first started to work for the Marconi radio company in 1909 and in 1916 he bacame Managing Director in 1916, two years befor the first wireless radio transmission was sent.
He was awarded the King George Vs silver jubilee medalin 1935 and Knighted in the coronation of honours on 1937. He was also appointed to the order of the crown of Italy in 1933.
Ernest fisk died in the 8th of July 1963.
His estate in Sydney was valued at over 300 thousand dollard and his home in Englad at $11 102.
A portrait of Fisk is held by Dr Graham Fisk of Sydney.
As the person who received the first ever wireless radio message I dont think he gets enough credit in history...if you read this remember him as a historical figure, thankyou for reading my blog!!!
